What We Believe
Cornerstone Chicago stands in the long line of Christian faith and tradition reaching back to the very earliest days of the Church. Our faith is summarized in the words of the ancient Creeds (Nicene and Apostles’), understood in their plain and historic sense.
We believe that the Holy Scriptures (Old and New Testament), as interpreted by the Church with the leading of the Holy Spirit, is the revealed Word of God and contains everything necessary for salvation. It is the ultimate standard of our faith and practice. The Book of Common Prayer shapes our “lived theology” and our common lives together.
While members and leaders must affirm these basic tenets of faith, skeptics and people with unanswered doubts are very welcome to participate in the community life of Cornerstone.
