What to Expect on Sunday
Welcome to Cornerstone Chicago! We meet at 10am on Sundays inside of Chicago Hope Academy for our services; you can find parking in the lot at 2130 W Ogden or street parking on the west side of the building. While our services allow for a high level of participation, you are welcome to participate at your comfort level. When you arrive, you'll be greeted by members of our congregation and invited to grab a cup of coffee.
Our service starts off with a welcome from our pastor, Nate Beasley, and a time of worship singing to center us on praising our God for who He is and what He's done. From there, we have three select readings before the sermon: one from the Old Testament, one from the New Testament, and one from one of the four Gospels. After our sermon, we participate as a church family in the saying of our beliefs through the Apostles Creed and praying for our church, our city, our nation and our world. We enter in a time of personal confession before the Lord and then seek the Lord's forgiveness and the forgiveness of others during a time of peace. We continue with worship as we prepare to receive communion.
We take part in communion every week to remind us of the Lord's Supper and to strengthen our own relationship with the Lord. We welcome anyone who has been baptized to partake in the sacrament of communion, and all are welcome to be blessed and prayed for during this time. We close with a final worship song, exciting announcements about the life of our church, and a prayer to send us back out into the world with the love and mission of Christ. After the service, which runs a little under 90 minutes long, you'll often see members catching up with each other, greeting new visitors and usually making lunch plans.
If you haven't joined us for a Sunday service yet, we hope to see you soon!
